Lost Words

Sometimes life leaves you wordless. You drift in obligations or little multiplied tasks. You grasp for every syllable. You slide through the mud of lost words. Until you sit with yourself and listen. Your heart still beats. You pick up your pen and write your name. One word. The beginning of all that was lost.

Invisible threads connect us in time-storms to our loved ones on this windswept day and blue-moon night.

Word

What is in a word?

The difference between speaking and being silent

The importance of sounding right

The essence of connecting or disengagement

A word can be heard when someone listens

A word can be read if someone sees

A word needs senses to understand and to be understood

A word can heal or hurt

Choose your word with heart and gentleness

If perchance you want to belong

The mystic blackforest

The mystic blackforest
The sky threw a shroud
Too flimsy to cover it all
The colourful tree tops
That root in brooked valleys
Thread autumn to grey-cold
The gust of wind-strewn
Time-worm ochre, sienna
Tinged sap and wine
This is the fabric of fairy-tales

Soul Flight

Lady Queen of Heaven
Photographed in the seminary church Maynooth, Co.Kildare, Ireland, by Andrea Connolly

Through my eyes my soul flies to glints of reflection. A mosaic opens a window that is there and is not there. Drawn to an artists impression of a crowned lady. Connection in my heart to our lady. Angels flutter and kneel. The king, the queen, human beings and yet not so much. An image of believing, belonging and longing. Out of the blue I wish I could see what I feel what is real on a different invisible level. – 17th July 2018 by Andrea Connolly

All Saints Prayer

All Saints Prayer

.

May they be present in their spirit

To spread miracles

To the faithful and seekers

May their stride be visible in loving gestures

In written and thoughtful words

May they have eyes on us in the space between worlds

To be witnesses, protectors and mediators

Their realm inhibit ours

So the courage of love and hope be funnelled

Into true and gentle wishes

To fight for the better and transform

Through the guardians our loved ones on either side

May All Saint’s stride with us

SAYING – 3rd

When the windfall of pain

Seizes and paralyses the body

A storm of thoughts unforeseen

Flood and grace the soul in turn

Brigid Lore

For land

She stretched her cloak

To the four corners of the kingdom

But she would inhabit the space

Of her original request only

After the king found his heart

To grant her sacred ground

Advent Flash

Advent Flash

When did advent go by in a flash? The rush grips us and flushes us out of the road called advent. Waiting is a nuisance. Why wait for Christmas when you can have all of it in November? It, meaning the deco, the special offers, the trees, the glitter and the music? Silent night premature on first of advent? In a flash time will go by and Christmas truly arrives. Will we lie down exhausted, overfed, bored, unnerved and grumpy under the tree on Christmas morn? O, could I be free to celebrate nativity and its gift just on the day, shed the clutter of gifts, expectations and turkey traditions for one moment of true love. To see a child smile that day would be magnificent. A child born anew in our hearts.
